My Bonus!!!! K.C. Jake

When my life was blessed with my marriage to Shane, I got a 2 for 1 deal. Shane's son, K.C., (my bonus son) doesn't live with us but has blessed our marriage and our lives. When he was very little, there was a period of time when Shane had him often. But his mom moved away from American Fork with her family and we didn't see him for quite a while. But when K.C. was baptized, Shane was able to confirm him a member of the Church and we were able to spend lots of time with him after that. He has been with us at some of the most wonderful times of our lives as a family. When he isn't here, there is definitely a huge piece, of our funny little puzzle, missing. All of our children love him so much. He was the girls' first brother and he is Joe and Jake's big brother and they cherish his visits. Now that he is a teenager, we don't see him as much as we would like to, but he is never out of our hearts. Even when circumstances made our visits even more difficult, he was and continues to be constantly in our prayers and in the prayers of all of our children. It's hard for us to be so far away from him and his life.
Now he is a grown-up, handsome, wonderful 17-year-old. He is busy and involved in school and friends and just recently had his Jr. Prom. Megan and Stephen agreed to take photos of K.C. and his date and the other kids he was going with. The boys decided to take their dates up to the Salt Lake Temple Visitor's Center and to The Roof for their dinner. Holy Cow!! What great guys, these are. K.C. has really good friends and strives to surround himself with greatness. He has set high standards for himself and he has made all of us, especially Shane, so very proud of him and the man he is becoming. From the looks of things, they had a wonderful time. With K.C.'s permission, I wanted to share.
Here's to our sweet son, K.C.
WE LOVE YOU, K.C.

  2. Cute kid, but what else would anything coming from Shane be? I haven't' seen K.C. since he was like 3 years old, and that feels like it was yesterday. Time flies.
